Whitman Middle School is a Middle School in Seattle , Washington , United States . The school, run by Seattle Public Schools , is one of Seattle's largest middle schools, with an enrollment of 970 students as of the 2006-2007 school year. As well as core classes (Social Studies, Language Arts, Math, and Science) a variety of electives are offered as either full- or partial year electives, including CAD drafting, Computer, Woodshop, Art, Choir, Orhestra, and Band. The foreign language program at Whitman offers classes in Spanish , French and Japanese , and Whitman operates an exchange program with its sister school, Izushi Junior High School in Izushi , Japan .
