Waverly is a neighborhood in north-central Baltimore , Maryland . Major streets in the area include Greenmount Avenue , 33rd Street, and The Alameda. Waverly borders Ednor Gardens-Lakeside, the location of the now-demolished Memorial Stadium , former home of the Baltimore Orioles , Baltimore Colts , and very briefly, the Baltimore Ravens . The Harry and Jeannette Weinberg YMCA and the Venable Senior apartments now stand in the location. Waverly has a rich tradition of diversity. SUBDIVISIONS Waverly has two sub-divisions. The area known as Waverly (-north) has Greenmount avenue as it's western border, 39th Street as it's northern border, Ellerslie as it's eastern border, and 33rd Street as it's southern border. The community association for this area is called the WIA, or "Waverly Improvement Association". The area known as "Better Waverly" (from the olde English term, like "greater" meaning larger) occupies the area east of Greenmount avenue, south of 33rd St., from 29th street, and around the corner to Loch Raven Blvd. More information and a map are available on the official sites, listed below.
