Twickenham By-election, 1955




The seat had become vacant when the constituency's Conservative Member Of Parliament (MP), Sir Edward Keeling , had died on 23 November 1954 . He had held the seat since the 1935 General Election .

The result was a comfortable victory for the Conservative candidate Gresham Cooke , who held the seat until his death shortly before the House Of Commons at the 1970 General Election .
