Jonathan Towers, Founder and President of Towers Productions, created the company in 1989 with an investment of $10,000. The company’s first major success with the award-winning American Justice series on A&E , which debuted in 1992. In 1993, Towers was nominated for a National Emmy Award for Investigative Journalism, as well as the CableAce Award for documentary writing. In 1998, Crain’s Chicago Business magazine named Towers one of the city’s top “40 under 40” business leaders. In 2001, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) nominated an episode of American Justice for it’s prestigious Image Award. A special produced for the Discovery-Times Channel After Saddam, earned TPI a National Headliner’s Award in 2004. In 2006, TPI named William Fisher as its Chief Executive Officer. A veteran television executive and co-founder of investment fund Collegia Capital, LLC, Fisher was previously President of Playboy TV International (1999-2001), Senior Vice President of HBO International (1995-1999), and Vice President of STAR TV, where he was part of the management team that launched Asia’s dominant satellite TV programming service. |
