Toledo Sports Arena




As a Concert venue, the Sports Arena can seat 6,500, and for theater concerts and stage shows, 4,400. The arena seats up to 8,250 for Boxing and Wrestling , and the arena is only 33-2/3 feet tall.
In the past, the Sports Arena has been home to the following ice hockey teams:

Attached to the Sports Arena is an exhibit hall that accommodates of space; when combined with the Sports Arena's of arena floor space, it's a total of of exhibit and trade show space. The exhibit hall can accommodate 2,500 for concerts and meetings and 1,800 for banquets. In addition there are three meeting rooms totaling of space.


DEMISE OF THE ARENA


The Toledo Sports Arena held it's final event on April 28, 2007. It was an extreme toughman event much like the UFC . The new arena is slated to be completed in October 2009 on the opposite side of the Maumee River , placing it in the center of downtown Toledo. Demolition is scheduled to start in early August 2007.1 Early models of the new arena look similar to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana .

Lucas County is gunning for an 8,000 To 10,000 Seat Arena and hopes to get an Arena Football team as a permanant tenant in addition to the ECHL team. 2
