Sumoto (栖本町; -machi) was a Town located in Amakusa District , Kumamoto , Japan . On March 27 , 2006 the town merged with seven other towns from the district and the cities of Hondo and Ushibuka forming the new City of Amakusa and no longer exists as an independent Municipality .
