The Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 is a United Kingdom Act Of Parliament which established the Statistics Board . It was given royal assent on 27 July 2007 and comes into force in April 2008. Once in force the Office For National Statistics will become an executive statistical office under the supervision of the new Statistics Board, which will answer directly to Parliament rather than to government ministers.
