ICE HOCKEY Ice Hockey has the second largest amount of participants, second only to Soccer . It has four divisions -- Mite, Squirt, Peewee and Bantam. Its age groups do not correspond with the Canadian nor American age groups. Mite is under 7, Squirt 7-12, Peewee 12-15 and Bantam 15+. These are mere guidelines though, and it mainly depends on talent. Sports Beijing also fields a team every year in the Malaysia Ice Hockey 5's , Asia's largest ice hockey tournament. They send three teams; a Squirt team, a Peewee team and a Bantam team. In 2006, the Squirt team placed 4th, the Peewee team 1st, and the Bantam team 2nd in their respective divisions. |
