''Sleeping Beauty'' is a 1976 Comedy album recorded by Cheech And Chong . For a long time, the album was only available on Vinyl LP edition. It was briefly reissued in 1992 on Compact Disc and Cassette editions that have since become out of print. On November 15 , 2005 , the long out-of-print album was finally re-released on CD, along with another rare comedy LP from the duo, '' Let's Make A New Dope Deal ''. {Link without Title}

COVER

The album cover and name make reference to the once popular drug Secobarbital , a Barbiturate derivitave commonly known on the street as "reds". Used for epilepsy and insomnia, the drug was widely abused in the 60's and 70's. The original LP album cover folded out into a giant red capsule, bearing the same numbers as Secobarbital capsules from the 1970's. The sleeve containing the actual record was a picture of a woman's tongue with a "red" in the center (the same picture was used for the re-release CD cover). Many references to "reds" have been made on Cheech & Chong's albums and in their films.
