HISTORY

Opened as an open-air mall in 1954 , Shoppingtown Mall one of Syracuse's first suburban shopping centers. After expanding several times in the 1960s it was enclosed in 1975 and substantially remodeled in 1991 .

Shoppingtown Mall is slated for further renovation which will demolish the portion of the mall leading from Sears to Dick's. A new main entrance will be constructed where the former Old Navy store currently stands, and a new vehicle entrance will be constructed under the Dick's store.
