A Sextet is a formation containing exactly six members. It is commonly associated with vocal or musical instrument groups, but can be applied to any situation where six similar or related objects are considered a single unit.

Sextet was also the name of a free Improvisation Quartet from Northern California . The group was composed of Robert Schaulis (Clarinet), Austin Moore (Trumpet), Courtland Miles (Trumpet), and Nick Spangler (drums). Sextet is known for their percussive form of free jazz. The band broke up in November of 2006.
