Sicherheit und Frieden – Security and Peace (''S+F'') is a German Journal focusing on peace research and Security Policy . S+F is well established in its field. Although the format was revised in 2004, the journal has been issued quarterly since 1983, it now has a circulation of 800 copies. Editor-in-chief is currently Hans J. Giessmann . As of the next volume 1/2007 he will be succeeded by Michael Brzoska . Other editors are Volker Franke from the Bonn International Center For Conversion (BICC), Heiner Häggi from the Geneva Centre For The Democratic Control Of Armed Forces (DCAF), Heinz-Dieter Jopp from the Bundeswehr Command And Staff College , Erwin Müller from the Institute For Peace And Conflict Research and Andreas Prüfert .


FOCUS

The journal aims to serve as a forum linking civil society and the armed forces in the areas of science and politics comprising of research analysis, insider reports and opinion pieces. The journal addresses issues such as security policy and peace research; from scientific aspects of arms control to questions of nation building in post-war societies.


PUBLISHED

Every issue of S+F is focussed on a particular theme. In addition to articles addressing the central theme, texts on general aspects of peace and security research are also published. It contains articles written in both German and English and in addition, a large section is devoted to discourse on newly published books.

Contributors can choose the pre-publication method of evaluation. The choice between evaluation by the editorial team or an external evaluation process ensures that high standards of publication are maintained.
