Seattle Buddhist Church

The Seattle Buddhist Church (built 1940–41) is a Japanese Buddhist Temple in Seattle, Washington , USA . Although it was designed by Japanese American A.K. Arai , the Architect of record was Pierce A. Horrocks, because Arai lacked an architectural license.Ochsner 1998, p. 242–243. It replaced an earlier Seattle Buddhist Church (1906–1908, Charles W. Saunders & George Willis Lawton) that was torn down as part of the Yesler Terrace project.Ochsner 1998, p. 27–39, 242.
