The Salt Baronetcy, of Saltaire in the County of York, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 30 October 1869 for the manufacturer, benefactor and Liberal politician Titus Salt . The Salt Baronetcy, of Standon, and of Weeping Cross in the County of Stafford, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 8 August 1899 for Thomas Salt , a banker and Conservative Member Of Parliament for Stafford for many years. Two other members of the family may also be mentioned. Harold Francis Salt (1879-1971), youngest son of the first Baronet, was a Major-General in the Army.
