''Organic Hallucinosis'' is the fourth Album by the Polish Technical Death Metal Band Decapitated . The album was released in 2006 on February 13 in the United Kingdom and Europe , on February 7 in the United States , and later on February 22 , 2006 in Japan . The tracks were also available for pre-listen previous to their release on the website of their label Earache Records , and currently still are. It is their first album to be released since the replacement of former Vocalist "Sauron" with new vocalist Adrian "Covan" Kowanek. HISTORY When original vocalist Sauron quit the band due to health complications, and a simultaneous shift in enthusiasm toward new directions, he began a search for a replacement. In summer of 2005 Sauron contacted a two year friend of his, Covan, whom he had played alongside with before. Covan's current extreme death metal band Atrophia Red Sun , was in a state of decline, so he gratefully accepted. With tours and an upcoming album however, Covan was cautious so as to cause minimal interference with his office job as well as his university studies. Studies can be pivotal, for in Poland, studying at a university negates the possibility of mandatory recruitment into the military, a situation where Decapitated's Bass Guitar ist Martin was unfortunately put into later on. The band immediately began working in the recording studio for the new album ''Organic Hallucinosis'' without even rehearsing. Covan originally wished to mimic the vocals of the previous album '' The Negation '', but other band members insisted that he introduce a unique style of his own. After six days of intense recording, and five of the seven tracks completed, Covan eventually lost his voice. Guitar ist Vogg came to the decision that the band would finish the album after the European Tour. After the tour was completed, the album was finished, and by the choice of Covan re-recorded due to his disappointment with his own vocal work. He found the improved results acceptable and they were used. The album was ready to be released on the planned date. CRITICISM Despite the positive feedback the band has received regarding ''Organic Hallucinosis'', the album has fallen victim to a heavy wave of criticism and disapproval from conservative death metal listeners and veteran Decapitated fans. This is particularly due to the noticeable change in style seen in this album, not only unique from traditional Decapitated music, but unique from what is typically seen in the entire genre of death metal. While many supporters of the album defend it for its originality, there seems to be several common complaints"
The criticism however, is not universally accepted by all. Overall, the critical reception to the album has been overwhelmingly positive. Respected online metal magazine The Metal Observer , for example, gave the album a perfect 10 out of 10.[http://www.metal-observer.com/articles.php?lid=1&sid=1&id=9787] Since this album is often recognized as the heaviest release of the band yet, it is often praised for being the most brutal and outstanding. The fact that Blast Beat s seem to dominate most of the tracks has been a major factor in creating this perspective. MISCELLANEA
