North Carolina Congressional Districts




North Carolina currently has 13 Congressional District s for the purpose of electing members of the United States House Of Representatives . The state gained an additional district in 2002 as a result of regular Reapportionment following the 2000 Census .


FIRST DISTRICT


The is currently held by Democrat G.K. Butterfield . Butterfield first won the seat in a special election on 20 July 2004 to replace Frank Ballance , who had resigned. Butterfield was re-elected to a full term in November 2004 and re-elected without opposition in 2006.




SECOND DISTRICT


The seat is currently held by Bob Etheridge , a Democrat .




THIRD DISTRICT


The seat is currently held by Walter B. Jones , a Republican .




FOURTH DISTRICT
