New Mexico State Highway 80 (or NM-80) is a short (21 miles) north-south State Highway in southwestern New Mexico between Interstate 10 and the Arizona state line, where it feeds into Arizona State Route 80 just southwest of Rodeo, New Mexico . The highway angles westward toward the south (or eastward to the north), leading to (with AZ-80) Douglas, Arizona from Interstate 10. Lying entirely within Hidalgo County, New Mexico , it is the only section of the old U.S. Highway 80 that Interstate 10 did not supplant in New Mexico. It traverses sparsely-populated territory and has only one intersection with another New Mexico state highway, New Mexico State Highway 9 . |
