Rhythm and lead guitar

Rhythm & Lead Guitar is the position of a Musician in a musical group who performs rhythm guitar a majority of the time, but also performs solos during a song. Recorded material by single guitar groups use Overdubbing to achieve the interplay between lead and rhythm guitar. Live recordings often feature one or the other, though at times both can be achieved at the same time. Live Looping techniques and Backstage musicians have also contributed to the atmosphere of lead and rhythm parts being played simultaneously.
