ACADEMICS

Often regarded as one of the top public high schools in the state of Washington, Mercer Island High School received the prestigious Blue Ribbon School award in 2006.

Featuring average SAT scores of 635 in math and 613 in verbal,Mercer Island High School Instruction and Assessment team: "SAT Scores." Retrieved March 22, 2007. X104.5 FM is a student-run radio station and also an educational class at Mercer Island High School.


EXTRACURRICULARS



Athletics

Mercer Island High School has a strong history of athletic success garnering state championships in nearly every sport.

In particular the Basketball , swimming, Waterpolo , and Lacrosse teams for both boys and girls have been the most successful. The girls and boys tennis teams have won a combined 41 state championships since 1972. The basketball team, coached by all-time Washington state wins leader Ed Pepple,''The Final Score'': "Washington basketball coaches career win-loss records." In 2006, Mercer Island won state championships in boys swimming, boys lacrosse, boys tennis, both boys and girls water polo, and boys golf. Thus far in 2007, Mercer Island has captured state championships in boys water polo and boys swimming. The Water Polo team has won state every year since 2000.


Non-athletics
