After playing for a local club and Torsby IF , he joined IFK Göteborg in 2003 , a club he played for until 2007. His older brother Jonatan Berg also plays for the club. On the 10th of August 2007, it was announced that Dutch side -bound Luis Suárez . The 5-0 away victory over Kalmar FF where Berg scored, was his last for the club because of his suspension for the game against Djurgården . He received a standing ovation upon leaving the field.
