EDUCATION Areas of education typically covered in a manufacturing engineering education include basic engineering math and sciences utilized commonly across all engineering disciplines, including Calculus , Thermodynamics , Physics , Statics , Optics , Chemistry , Fluid Mechanics , Differential Equations , Statistics , strength of materials, and other basic engineering courses. Specialty in manufacturing engineering, like all engineering disciplines, occurs during specialized classes associated with 3rd and 4th years of education. OCCUPATIONS Manufacturing engineers can occupy a broad range of occupations and many function in consulting and executive positions, but the majority work in controlling the production process in a Factory environment, including the quality of the products produced and the overall raw material to finished goods processes employed in a factory. |
