MISD serves Mansfield and portions of the cities of Grand Prairie , Arlington , and Burleson . . The district also extends into northeastern Johnson County . The Mansfield ISD is one of the fastest growing School Districts in the State Of Texas . MISD has over 30 schools and District facilities. Among the facilities are three high schools, the Ben Barber Career Tech Academy, and a new competition-level stadium and natatorium complex. MISD plans to open seven new schools between 2007 and 2009, including the District's fourth high school in Fall 2007. HISTORY In 1956, Mansfield ISD segregated African-Americans to a separate elementary school and bussed African-American high school students to a school in Fort Worth {Link without Title} .
