MacArthur started and completed six games for the Indianapolis Hoosiers of the American Association . He gave up 80 baserunners (57 Hits , 21 Walks , and 2 Hit Batsmen ) in 52 Innings . He also gave up 49 Runs , but only 29 of them were Earned Runs . His first game was on May 2, 1884 against the St. Louis Browns at Sportsman's Park in St. Louis . The Hoosiers lost, 8-1. His second game (May 9, 1884) was a winning effort against the Louisville Eclipse at Eclipse Park in Louisville, Kentucky . The score was 8-2. He would pitch in only four more games, the last being on June 9. In his short MLB career he was 1-5 with 19 Strikeouts and an ERA of 5.02.
