Lyle Sendlein (born March 18 1984 in Edina, Minnesota )1 is a professional American Football player. On May 1 2007 he announced he had signed as a Free Agent with the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL . Prior to that, he played College Football for The University Of Texas Longhorns and helped them win a national championship. He played in the Offensive Line as Center . COLLEGE CAREER Sendlein played in 50 games while at Texas and he started in his final 26 games. He was a two-time all-conference performer in the Big 12 . He started for the 2005 National Championship Team and helped the Longhorns set an NCAA single-season record with 652 total points scored and a UT single-season record with 6,657 total offensive yards. He played in the offensive line as center. He earned a degree in Liberal Arts in December 2006. PRO CAREER Seven Longhorn team-mates of Sendlein were selected in the 2007 NFL Draft - Michael Griffin (number 19 overall), Aaron Ross (number 20 overall), Justin Blalock (number 39 overall), Tim Crowder (number 56 overall), Brian Robison (number 102 overall), Tarell Brown (number 147 overall), Kasey Studdard (number 183 overall).2 Like Sendlein, Selvin Young was not drafted but signed with an NFL teams as a free agent.3 On his signing with the Arizona Cardinlas, Sendlein said, "I had about 20 to 25 teams call to check on my status, but my agent and I felt like Arizona would be a good fit." said Sendlein.
