Liquorice root candy is the dried root of the Liquorice plant, and can be eaten as a candy. A stick of liquorice typically has a diameter between two and ten millimetres. Although the sticks look like plain Wooden sticks, they are soft enough to be chewed on. They used to be popular among Dutch children.
