It is the largest of all Longwool breeds. It is also one of the most docile breeds of sheep around. The Lincoln Longwool was exported to places like Australia and New Zealand where they were cross bred with the sheep over there, to increase wool supply. The adult has a body weight of about 60 kg, its Fleece can weigh up to 7 kg with a diameter of about 40 Microns and a Staple ranging up to 240 mm. |
