"Life After Death and Taxes (Failure II)" is a song by Relient K , from their 4th album Mmhmm .

It is a sequel to the song "Failure to Excommunicate" from their second album The Anatomy Of The Tongue In Cheek , which is the reason for the '(Failure II)' in the song title. The other connection with the older song is the same string melody heard at the end. The "Life After Death and Taxes" strings are a little more subtle, and in the key of this song. Also, Drummer Dave Douglas sings a solo in both songs.

This song and its predecessor have been dubbed "The Failure Series" by both the band and the fans.

The song was released as a Christian Radio single on ChristianRock.Net around late 2006 .
