Leavenworth Times

The newspaper was founded in 1856 by Robert Crozier , who would become a U.S. Senator. In 1871 Daniel R. Anthony (brother of Susan B. Anthony ) bought the newspaper. In that year Anthony shot and killed a rival publisher R.C. Satterlee of the ''Kansas Herald''. A jury absolved him.
