''Leatherheads'' is a romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football starring George Clooney , John Krasinski and Renée Zellweger . The film will be released on December 7 , 2007 .


OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS


Dodge Connolly ( George Clooney ) is an aging football hero whose team faces certain collapse after losing their sponsor. Carter Rutherford ( John Krasinski ) is a WW1-veteran with a great talent in football and a long history of deeds, a history that is held suspect by Lexie Littleton ( Renée Zellweger ), a cub journalist who is sniffing holes in Rutherford's story.

FILMING LOCATIONS

''Leatherheads'' began its first day of filming on Monday, February 12 , 2007 at North Greenville University in Tigerville, South Carolina . Filming there lasted one day and then moved on to other locations in the area. Main players in 'Leatherheads' have yet to take field for shoot As of Monday, February 12th, other confirmed filming locations are: Universal Pictures, Casey Silver Productions, and Smoke House begin principal photography on the romantic comedy 'Leatherheads,' directed by George Clooney and starring George Clooney and Renee Zellweger


NOTES


Filming in Anderson, South Carolina occurred in the Calhoun building, an early 20th century hotel turned nursing home. The Calhoun is currently undergoing renovation.

  • Filming in Salisbury, North Carolina occurred in the Historic Salisbury Railway Passenger Station. Historic Salisbury Foundation spent over 3.1 million dollars to restore the Salisbury Station, re-opened in 1996. http://www.historicsalisbury.org/museum_properties.asp?action=detail&id=2
