Information AboutLaw Centre |
|
Law centres specialise in Social Welfare law which includes: community care, debt, discrimination, education, employment, housing, immigration, nationality and asylum, mental health, public law and welfare benefits. Any Law Centre does not necessarily cover all these areas of law, as services are dependent on funding. Funding is provided by Local Authorities and by Legal Aid . Law Centres do not cover the whole country, and most will only provide services to people living in their area. The first Law Centre was established in North Kensington in 1970. All Law Centres in England are members of the Law Centres Federation and in Scotland the Scottish Association of Law Centres |
