Lake in northern
Ethiopia . Located in the
Administrative Zone 2 , it is one of the lakes of the
Afar Depression . According to its entry in Lakenet, it has a surface area of 100 square kilometers.

Italian explorer
Giuseppe Maria Giulietti , who was slain by
Afars near the location of the lake, although this body of water was not known to Europeans until long after his death in
