HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc.’s centerpiece program is the all-educational cable television channel, Knowledge Channel. To bring Knowledge Channel in the public schools throughout the country, the Foundation and its partners provide much of the broadcast and distribution network infrastructure as well as programming content and the manpower resources necessary in operating the channel on a 18-hour a day, 7 days a week basis.

Over the past six years, the Foundation has achieved the following:
  • Provision of Knowledge Channel to 1,528 public elementary and high schools

  • Potential reach of 2.67 million public school students and 6 million more viewers in households nationwide

  • Airing of over 3,000 titles of quality educational video materials based on the Department of Education’s curriculum

What Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. has accomplished is but a scratch on the surface. Despite the support of various sponsors to make possible the impact of KCFI to millions, the Foundation continues to face relevant challenges as well as potential opportunities:
  • Maintenance of the channel

  • Daily uninterrupted broadcast for 18 hours

  • Upkeep of KCFI’s skeletal office and technical staff

  • Increase in the need to develop Science, Math, and English programs to improve student-competency in the Philippines

  • Service to more students nationwide— of the 17 Million students in the country, only 1.7 percent are serviced by KCh

  • Address the shortage of teachers, school buildings and teacher resources such as teaching tools and multi-media materials and equipment

With your support, Knowledge Channel can increase its reach and improve its programming content, thus enabling the Foundation to reach more and teach more.
