King's And Cheshire Regiment

It was the territorial battalion of the regular King's Regiment and Cheshire Regiment . The companies of the battalion were located in Warrington, Liverpool , Manchester and Crewe (detachment in Northwich ).

In July 2006 http://www.army.mod.uk/lancs/formation_decisions/index.htm, the King's Regiment companies were amalgamated with the Lancastrian And Cumbrian Volunteers to form the 4th Battalion (Volunteers), Duke Of Lancaster's Regiment (King's Lancashire And Border) , and the Cheshire Regiment companies amalgamating with the West Midlands Regiment to form the 4th Battalion (Volunteers), Mercian Regiment .
