Kids Help Line is an Australia n 24-hour telephone and online counselling service for young people aged between five and 25. Its telephone counselling service started in 1991 in Queensland , expanding Nationally in 1993 . Kids Help Line expanded to online counselling in 1999 with the help of Australian Telecommunication company Optus COUNSELLING Phone counselling is available 24hours on 1800-55-1800, is a free call from Landline , Public and Optus mobile phones and will not show up on most phone bills. Web Counselling is available Monday to Friday QLD - 3pm to 9pm NSW - 3pm to 9pm VIC - 3pm to 9pm TAS - 3pm to 9pm ACT - 3pm to 9pm SA - 2.30pm to 8.30pm NT - 2.30pm to 8.30pm WA - 1.00pm to 7.00pm Saturday & Sunday QLD - 10am to 5pm NSW - 10am to 5pm VIC - 10am to 5pm TAS - 10am to 5pm ACT - 10am to 5pm SA - 9.30am to 4.30pm NT - 9.30am to 4.30pm WA - 8.00am to 3.00pm It is supported by BoysTown , a charity dedicated to supporting children, young people and families who are disadvantaged. TRIVA Although it is intended for Australian children and young adults, web counselling can be accessed world wide, and has been used to protect children from as far as the United States.
