Kenmore Air is an American Airline based in Kenmore, Washington on Lake Washington , USA . It operates scheduled seaplane services in the Seattle area, as well as sightseeing flights. Its main bases are Kenmore Air Harbor and Boeing Field/King County International Airport , with a hub at Lake Union 's Seattle Seaplanes base.1 The airline also owns a major maintenance and remanufacturing center for seaplanes and other Amphibious Aircraft . HISTORY The airline was established and started operations in March 1946 . It was founded by Robert Munro and two partners and began operations with a single aircraft and hangar at the airline's current location on north Lake Washington. After a short term partnership Munro continued alone with the company until his death in October 2000 . It is the largest single operator of Seaplane s in the world. DESTINATIONS The airline serves the Pacific Northwest region, and acts as a quick connection between Seattle and Victoria, British Columbia and Vancouver Island . In 2004 , a new division of the company began operating Cessna Caravan s out of Boeing Field , providing land based, scheduled airline service to the San Juan Islands , Port Angeles, Washington and Whidbey Island . There are also seasonal flight during the summer to Campbell River , Canada . Scheduled seaplane services are operated from the Seattle area to the San Juan Islands , Orcas Island , Oak Harbor and Victoria, British Columbia. FLEET Seaplanes
