He was born in Bucharest and made his debut in Divizia A with Dinamo Bucureşti in 1975. He spent eleven seasons with Dinamo, winning the league title three years in a row -- from 1982 through 1984. Midway in the 1985/1986 season, he was transferred to Victoria Bucureşti , where he helped them win the 3rd place in the 1987 and 1988 seasons. He retired in 1990.
