START ITC was established in 2004 by Khosrow Motarjemi and Ruzbeh Kavian , Persian (Iranian) IT professionals based in California . Its audience include many Persian speakers around the world through the Hotbird Satellite . The broadcast has been discontinued early after starting, due to financial problems but will be on air since December 2005 again. PROGRAMS ITC's programs include lessons on Microsoft products, IT news/tech talk, E-commerce, and IT books review. REACTIONS The programs have been warmly received by Persians (Iranians) and some of ITC's fans have created weblogs to support this channel. OFFICIAL PERMISSION ITC is currently trying to get permission from Iran's government to open an office in Tehran . ITC's programs are educational and non-political, but the Iranian government is generally strict with US-based Persian channels. Some of these channels had a big role in recent pro-democracy demonstrations in the capital city of Tehran. LOCATION ITC's main office is located in Woodland Hills, California , near Los Angeles , the city with the largest Persian community outside of Persia ( Iran ). EXTERNAL LINKS |
