The Idaho State Police (ISP) is the statewide law enforcement agency for the state of Idaho . It was created in 1919 to protect the lives, property and constitutional rights of people in Idaho.

The Idaho State Police consists also of the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI), Forensics, which investigates breath alcohol, controlled substances, clandestine labs/crime scenes, firearms/toolmarks, DNA/forensic biology, latent fingerprints/impression evidence, toxicology, and trace evidence. Investigations, which are trained detectives and specialize in a variety of enforcements and services. Alcohol Beverage Control. The Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Bureau's mission is to ensure all establishments selling and/or producing alcoholic beverages, including liquor, beer, and /or wine are properly licensed and conform to the laws, rules, and regulations pursuant to Title 23, Idaho Code, and also to provide assistance to local law enforcement agencies in the enforcement of Title 23, Idaho Code.
