Idaho's 2nd Congressional District

Idaho's 2nd congressional district includes the Eastern Idaho and Magic Valley regions of the state and other outlying areas, as well as a small portion of the Boise Metropolitan Area . Major cities in the district include Idaho Falls , Pocatello , Twin Falls , Rexburg , Burley and Mountain Home . George W. Bush received 69% of the vote in this district in 2004. The district has a Cook Partisan Voting Index score of R +19.

Since 1999 the district has been represented in the United States House Of Representatives by Mike Simpson , a Republican from Blackfoot .

The district was created for the 1918 Congressional Election by the Idaho Legislature. The boundaries have been changed several times by Reapportionment .
