Hunter's Bar is located in the Ecclesall ward of the Hallam constituency: the main shopping area in the suburb is what was formerly known as Endcliffe Market , and is situated on Ecclesall Road. Much of the terraced housing in Hunters Bar and nearby Sharrow Vale is directly attributed to the industrial revolution, where housing was built for workers. Near to the roundabout are Endcliffe Park , Hunter's Bar Infant and Junior Schools, as well as many shops, restaurants and Off-license shops.
