Chickpeas by themselves. The full name of the dish is ''hummus bi tahina'' () 'chickpeas with tahini'. Hummus is popular in various local forms throughout the Middle Eastern world. Its origins are unknown and are hotly debated throughout the Middle East.


SERVING METHODS

Hummus is traditionally scooped with flatbread (such as Pita or a Piadini ), but is increasingly popular as a dip for Tortilla Chips outside the Middle East. Hummus is also used as an Appetizer dish to accompany main courses, as part of a Meze , and as a dressing (for such things as Falafel , Mediterranean salad, grilled chicken, and Eggplant ). In Israel, a hummus sandwich is a popular children's Snack .

PRODUCT RECALL
