H. Holden Thorp is currently the Kenan Professor of Chemistry at the University Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill . He received his B.S in chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1986. Three years later, he obtained his Ph.D from California Institute Of Technology . He was also a postdoctoral associate in Yale University from 1989-90. His research is primarily focused on developing a new biological applications of transition-metal redox chemistry. Starting in July 2007, Thorp will become the Dean of College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. |
