Halloween Swim Team (HST) is a synth punk / art rock band based in Los Angeles and the Inland Empire (California) . The band's current line up consists of Dustin M. Krapes, Jon Navarro, Eriq Anguiano and Scottarthur Carrillo. Formed in 2003, originally as a satirical rap group led by Krapes and Navarro, HST underwent numerous line-up and drastic stylistic changes before releasing their first official album "Panicakes and Serum" (How To Be A Microwave, 2006) with drummer Jon Grothman. The album was on heavy rotation on college radio stations throughout the states as the band toured extensively from coast to coast. Citing creative differences later that same year, the group disbanded. In late 2006, Krapes and Navarro began writing material for their second release, a CD-EP entitled "A Little Something" (How To Be a Microwave, 2007). Joined by Scottarthur Carillo on bass and Louis Perez on drums in Summer of 2007, HST toured the west coast in support of the EP. Upon returning home, Perez left the group due to a memory impairing concussion. BAND LINE-UP

ORIGIN OF THE NAME Members of Halloween Swim Team, when interviewed, are consistently prone to answering inconsistently when asked about the origin of their name. However, common consensus is that they were dubbed "Halloween Swim Team" by Justin Pearson of The Locust at a music festival in Irvine, California in summer 2002, months before forming the band. HOW TO BE A MICROWAVE In February 2006 Scottarthur Carrillo and Dustin M. Krapes founded How To Be a Microwave which operates as a DIY record label. Through collaborating with other artists and musicians based in Los Angeles and the Inland Empire, How To Be A Microwave has grown into a live music promotions collective with a DIY ideology. CONCUSSION There are numerous stories and rumors surrounding Louis Perez's departure from Halloween Swim Team. The most commonly referenced story is that upon returning home from tour, Perez left the group due to a head injury acquired at HST's tour homecoming show at the Prestigious House of Vermont in July 2007. The injury occurred after Perez's last set with the group when he climbed to the roof of the house impaired with a firm belief in a divine ability to fly and jumped off screaming, "Are you serious?!" before landing on what he now claims to have thought was "an inflatable kiddie pool filled with tapioca pudding that would serve as a portal to heaven." Upon recovering from a major concussion, Perez claimed to have forgotten all of Halloween Swim Team's songs, and was replaced with Eriq Anguiano in August 2007. MOVIE APPEARANCES Halloween Swim Team appeared as themselves in 40 Bands 80 Minutes! , a rockumentary movie directed by Sean Carnage about the Los Angeles underground music scene in 2006. In the movie the band claims to play "love songs." MUSIC VIDEOS Navarro and Krapes are both film majors, and together with the rest of the group, produce all of their own music videos. Most recently the group completed a video for "The Rise and Fall of King Faredae" from "A Little Something" (How To Be A Microwave, 2007). Shot on black and white Super 8 film, the video features a man wrapped in caution tape whose story loosely follows the song's narrative about a king (King Faredae) whose abuse of power results in his beheading. Currently in the works is a music video for "Your Merry Way" from "A Little Something" (How To Be A Microwave, 2007). The video is rumored to feature a man wearing a cardboard mask performing magic tricks for blind monsters. EXTERNAL LINKS
