HALLOWEEN See Also: Halloween (novel)
''Halloween'' is a 1979 Novelization by Curtis Richards of the Horror Film '' Halloween '' (1978). The novel has been Out-of-print since the late 1980s. The novel elaborates on aspects not featured in the film such as the origins of the curse of Samhain and Michael Myers's life in Smith's Grove Sanitarium. For example, the opening reads: :The horror started on the eve of Samhain, in a foggy vale in northern Ireland, at the dawn of the Celtic race. And once started, it trod the earth forevermore, wreaking its savagery suddenly, swiftly, and with incredible ferocity. HALLOWEEN II
''Halloween II'' is a 1981 Novelization by Jack Martin . Martin also went to write the novelization for Halloween III (see below) The film is told right off the bat of Halloween II and only features one thing new: In the first chapter, there is a scene in Halloween where Keith, Lonnie, and Richie come to the Myers house. The book is out-of-print. You can read a few chapters at www.geocities.com/madnessmike/hallnovels.htm. Also, the blonde reporter we see in the beginning is another of Michael's victims. One difference is that (before 4, 5, and 6 were released) an officer says that all the bodies were burned to crisp. HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH
''Halloween III: Season of the Witch'' is a 1983 Novelization by Jack Martin who also wrote Halloween II (see above). This book had a lot of extras then the movie did. It is longer than the first two books by about 100 pages. The back of the book states: : Do you know where your kids are tonight? : The streets are quiet. Dead quiet as the shadows lengthen and night falls. It's Halloween. Bloodchilling screams pierce the air. Grinning skulls and grotesque shapes lurk in the gathering darkness. IT's Halloween. The streets are filling with small cloaked figures. They're just kids, right? The doorbell rings and your flesh creeps. But it's all in fun, isn't it? : No. This Halloween is different. : It's the last one. |
