Green bean casserole is a Casserole consisting of Green Beans , cream of mushroom Soup and French Fried Onions . The recipe may also call for Black Pepper and/or Soy Sauce . Green bean casserole was invented in favorite in the United States. Green bean casserole however can be made with any brand of canned cream of mushroom soup available; however, some argue that unless the soup is Campbell's brand, it's not a "true" green bean casserole.
