GOAT ISLAND, AUCKLAND REGION Auckland 's Goat Island is a tiny island (approximately one hectare) located close to the North Island coast northeast of Warkworth , and directly west of Hauturu/Little Barrier Island . It forms part of the Goat Island Marine Reserve, a 524 Ha Reserve spanning from Cape Rodney to Okakari point, which was officially formed in 1975 Morton, J. With around 314,525 visitors per year, it is a popular spot for Snorkelers and Scuba-divers , due to the large number of fish now living there. GOAT ISLAND, OTAGO Goat Island in Otago , is located between Port Chalmers and Portobello , halfway down Otago Harbour . It is to the northwest of the larger Saint Martin's/Quarantine Island . REFERENCES |
