Singapore .
The FAS is responsible for the organisation and development of soccer in Singapore, and for the
Singapore National Football Team .
Up until
1994 , the FAS also used to enter representative sides in the
Malaysia Cup and
Malaysian League . It withdrew its team from these competitions after the 1994 season following a dispute with the
Football Association Of Malaysia over gate receipts, and decided to concentrate its effort on developing the local
S.League .
The FAS was formed in
1952 . Prior to that, the was the governing body for football in Singapore. The Singapore Amateur Football Association was formed in
1892 , and lays claim to being the oldest Football Association in Asia.
