Fantasy Cricket

Fantasy sports is not a new phenomenon with many other sports like - IIM students in India just before the ICC World Cup 2007.

TYPICAL GAMEPLAY

Typically a game involves users(who may be asked to sign up first) selecting a team of 11 players. After each cricket match, based on how many runs a batsman scores, wickets a bowler takes or catches, stumping and run outs made by a fielder, points are given. The points are usually graded so a wicket would carry more points than say a single run. After all the players taking part in the match have been awarded the points, all the users who are playing that game are updated and if their team had any player who scored points in that match, they get the points added against that player. At the end the aggregate points is calculated and a points ladder is made with the user's team scoring the maximum points at the top of the ladder.
Periodically - typically after every one or two matches - team owners are allowed to change some of their selections.
Usually the game is carried over a period of an entire tournament or a specified period of time.

USER INVOLVEMENT

The game usually appeals to people who are avid cricket fans. Since the game requires sound knowledge of which cricketers are in form and knowledge of how they will perform in match conditions. Basically you are given the experience of an actual Cricket team selector with you having to choose your team from the best players on offer.
