The retail chain offers a wide variety of Christian merchandise especially, but not limited to books, and CDs. Although there are items offered for most denominations of Christianity, including Catholicism, a predominance of merchandise is more conservatively or evangelically oriented in its theology and content; until 1993, the chain was part of Zondervan , the conservative Christian publishing giant that has historically been close to the Christian Reformed Church .
