''Europe Tonight'' is a television business news programme on CNBC Europe , aired from Monday to Thursday between 8pm and 9pm CET (7pm and 8pm WET ) and repeated three hours later. Since March 2007 , the programme has been presented by Guy Johnson .

HISTORY

The original ''Europe Tonight'' was a 30-minute market review aired on weekdays at 6:30pm CET prior to . The remainder of this version of the programme was essentially an update from '' European Closing Bell '', in which Hobbs reviewed the day's business events and covered any late breaking news.

2007 REVAMP

The programme length was extended from 30 minutes to one hour on 2007-03-26 as part of schedule changes at the network, which also saw ''European Closing Bell'' have its runtime halved. It also saw Johnson installed as presenter, and the show gained a new title sequence and changed its theme music from that formerly used by Closing Bell to that used by Street Signs prior to December 2005 . The format of the programme was heavily revamped, gaining some of the segments previously contained in the second hour of ''European Closing Bell'', such as a daily ''Guest Investor''. New features introduced include ''The Editor'', where the Editor of a European business publication discusses how they will be covering notable events, and an update on the US markets which comes live from the NASDAQ MarketSite in the original airing of the show, and is replaced by a recorded review from CNBC Global Headquarters in the repeat. Wadhwa no longer acts as co-host of ''Europe Tonight'', but remains a contributor to the show.
